Babymoon

So, I think I will start to write on here more than once a month. Sounds like a plan, right? There has been a great deal of things going on in the last month or so;  some good, some bad.  Not just with myself, but with people very close to me.  So, that’s where I’ve been.

More recently, though, I have been in Arizona babymooning.  It was fabulous!  I think babymooning seems to be a fairly new concept.  It is a trip that a couple takes before their baby arrives; sort of a “last trip”.  Since Drew and I love our mini vacations, you all knew this would happen.  For those of you that don’t know, my mother-in-law is a flight attendant for American Airlines.  So, we basically get free plane tickets as long as we fly stand-by.  That is why you hear about so many travels.  It can be a little stressful sometimes, since we have to wait and see if there are openings on a flight.  So, we didn’t really know our destination until the night before and we didn’t really book reservations until minutes before our flight just in case we didn’t get on.  We decided to travel to Arizona and loved it!  We flew into Tucson and stayed there the first night.  We rented a car and drove to Scottsdale the next day, but not before doing some hiking in Tucson.

After our hike, we headed out to Scottsdale. The concierge from our Tucson hotel gave us a beautiful route to take that took us through the desert.

When we arrived in Scottsdale, we were excited to check out our hotel.  We have recently discovered lastminutetravel.com.  We booked our room for half off the current rate and as soon as we walked in our room we knew we wouldn’t want to leave. We stayed at the Montelucia.

Aside from taking in the breathtaking views, we were able to take in some Cubs Spring Training! We will definitely be coming back in the future. But for now, we are back in Chicago enjoying some extra days off of work and enjoying the great weather. Home renovations start soon. I’ll post some before pictures shortly. I just want this all to be done with so we can focus on the nursery for this guy:
